Glamour Redefined by Robert W. Richards

On October 25, 2010 in New York, I attended the opening night gala of artist Robert W. Richards’ latest exhibit “Glamour Redefined.” The exhibit is so fabulous, he is celebrating two nights in a row! If you are around on October 26, 2010, head over to the NP Contemporary Arts Center in New York (located at 131 Chrystie Street). As the name of the exhibit suggests, Richards has redefined our common definitions of the word glamour with illustrations that will question the traditional meaning of the word.
I spoke with Mr. Richards and as you can see from the above picture, he was super cool. We chatted about art, our definitions of glamour as well as one of my favorite works of his, an illustration of “Chelsea Boys” creators Glen Hanson and Allan Neuwirth.
After the jump, see a picture of my encounter with Robert W. Richards, his take on Marilyn Monroe as well as fashionista Patrick McDonald posing with his artistic likeness.
