Moments after singer Robyn played the headlining slot of the All Hearts Tour featuring Dan Black, Kelis and the Far East Movement, I met the singer at a meet and greet at Webster Hall. She was extremely nice and allowed me to take a photo (with my hand) even after the security guards were telling people they couldn’t take pictures of or with the singer. I guess she couldn’t resist my charm. Well the feeling is mutual and I thank you Robyn for living by the words of your song “Don’t fucking tell me what to do.”
There’s rumours that Lady Gaga and Robyn will perform together on “The Gays Think We’re Jesus Tour,” but until that day comes, here’s a video of Robyn performing “Dancing on my Own” at a very exclusive concert in New York on July 29, 2010. Thanks again to Sheena Beaston for the hookup!
Swedish singer Robyn is on top of the world right now. After scoring a worldwide smash with “Show Me Love,” in the 1990s, she faded out of the spotlight for almost 10 years and has begun her world domination again. Putting out an ambitious 3 albums this year, Robyn did a very special and very exclusive performance at the P.C Richard and Son Theater in New York on July 29, 2010, and thanks to winning a contest on one of my favorite sites, Sheena Beaston, I was there in the front row to catch all the excitement! Thanks Sheena B, you know I love you!!
Robyn did a 7 song set, that featured her new single “Dancing On My Own.” A video will be coming soon, but bear with me, I am only one person with tons of experiences! She also performed her signature song “Show Me Love” as well as “Hang With Me,” and “With Every Heartbeat.” I am seeing Robyn again next week along with Dan Black and Kelis and after tonight’s performance, I already know I am going to have a great time!
