Justin Warfield of She Wants Revenge

On June 4, 2010, rockers She Wants Revenge opened for the Psychedelic Furs at New York’s Irving Plaza. The sold out crowd had a pretty nice distribution of fans of both acts and it was pretty easy to spot who came to see which band.  All the overweight guys with Duran Duran T-shirts were there for the Pfurs and all the young girls with way too much makeup on and very tight clothing were there for She Wants Revenge.  I, of course, am a music slut and I was there for both acts and I loved every second of the evening.  Lead singer Justin Warfield mentioned that he was very grateful to get the chance to open for one of his favorite bands and to celebrate, he rocked the house!  They played their hits “Out of Control” and “Tear You Apart,” as well as 4 new songs: “Kiss Me,” “Suck It Up,” “Maybe She’s Right,” and “Some Girls, Some Boys.”  She Wants Revenge hit the stage around 9 pm and they finished just over an hour later.  Thanks to Justin Warfield for handing me the set list at the conclusion of their rockin’ set.  I am really looking forward to their next album, if the songs they played tonight are an indication of things to come.  One interesting anecdote from the show – I was in my usual spot, front row center, and a few songs into the set, some drunken asshole tried to push his way to the front.  The woman behind me was not having it and she told the drunk guy to beat it.  Well he did.  He punched the woman in the face!  It took the bumbling security guards a full song to eject the guy and when they finally came over to “help,” they didn’t believe the woman and started yelling at her.  She yelled back, and rightfully so. She was escorted out as well, even though she did nothing wrong, other than tell the protectors of our safety what a bunch of idiots they are!  Security fail!
