Planet Earth by Duran Duran

It’s hard to believe that 30 years ago, on February 2nd, 1981, this new band called Duran Duran released their first single “Planet Earth.”  Backed with the amazing B-side “Late Bar” and the extended “Night Version” of the A-side, the song became a huge hit and ushered in the “New Romantic” era of music.  “Planet Earth” sounds as great to me 30 years on as it did when it was first released and I wish the song a very happy anniversary.  Duran’s latest album, the Mark Ronson produced, “All You Need Is Now” will be released in full later this month and from the preview tracks that are available on I-Tunes, the band sounds as great as ever!

Bop Bop Bop Buh Bop Bop Buh Buh!
