Steve Goodman is Kode 9.

Scottish DJ Steve Goodman, better known as Kode 9, took the stage at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge on March 30, 2010 opening for Flying Lotus.  His style of DJing is called Dubstep, which for the non-ravers out there means that Dubstep tracks are generally produced at a tempo of around 140 beats per minute and in recent years have developed signature half time rhythms, often heavily shuffled or syncopated, and usually, though not exclusively, including only one snare drum hit per bar, often on the third beat.  According2g that means you’re gonna dance your ass off and get lost in the funky tribal beats.  For the Prince fans that might be reading this, you might want to look into Kode 9’s 2004 collaboration with Daddy Gee called “Sine of the Dub,” which is a loose interpretation of the purple one’s “Sign O’ the Times.”
