“Viva La Revolucion” at MCASD

If you are in the San Diego area in California, you will not want to miss the “Viva La Revolucion: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape” exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. The exhibit features the work of 20 well known street artists such as Shepard Fairey, Banksy, Barry McGee, Invader, Vhils, Os Gemeos, Swoon, and Faile just to name a few of the participating artists. I’ve written about most of these artists before and it is so pleasing to see their work preserved in a museum setting.
You’ll want to allow extra time when you visit the exhibit to explore downtown San Diego as you’ll be given a “treasure map” that details the location of over 12 more works that the artists have left all over the city! I went on this journey and some locales are walking distance and you’ll have to drive to others to see them all in one day, but trust me – it’s worth it.
See some more works from both the museum exhibit as well as some that have been left in public, after the jump.
