T Minus 20. Now showing at the Christopher Henry Gallery in NYC through August 1, 2010

If you want to see a really cool exhibit that will blow your mind, head down to the Christopher Henry Gallery in New York immediately!  “T Minus 20” is a multi-media extravaganza on 2 floors that features a line of artist designed T-shirts and video installations.  The shirts are made by 20 different artists (including Christopher Lee Sauve and Scooter La Forge) using T-shirts as a canvas and coincides with the launch of IGNITE’s online store.  I discovered that a knitted bicycle I had previously written about was created by the artist Olek, and I’ve already mentioned the strange coincidence of seeing a shirt designed by Joey Israel and running into him several hours later.

The video installations on the second floor are so cool!  Artist Devan Simunovich designed two pyramids that feature hallucination-like projections on them and I had to stop myself from staring for hours.  The video to “Corporate Cannibal” directed by Nick Hooker and sung by my beloved Grace Jones is also featured.  Special thanks to Jason at the Christopher Henry Gallery who told me a lot about the wonderful artists featured in “T Minus 20.”  This must see exhibit is located at the Christopher Henry Gallery located at 127 Elizabeth Street and runs from until August 1, 2010.  Don’t miss it!
