Tara McPherson and Geoffrey Dicker
What a week Tara McPherson is having! The artist just launched her really cool store The Cotton Candy Machine (located at 235 South 1st Street in Brooklyn, New York) which sells art and clothing. She celebrated by hosting “Tiny Trifecta,” an art show where 100 artists sold “tiny” works for $100 each. Of course, the event was held on the 100th day of 2011. I met Tara at the launch party and she was very nice! Thanks Tara. For all my Depeche Mode fans that are reading, see a poster Tara created for a 2005 show. Super cool. The print can be yours by visiting The Cotton Candy Machine.

Harley Davidson presents The Art of Rebellion
On October 17, 2009, I attended the one-night only Art of Rebellion art show presented by Harley Davidson. The night featured art by Art Chantry, Brian Ewing, Dirty Donny, Jon Van Hamersveld, Harpoon, Derek Hess, Frank Kozik, Lindsey Kuhn, Tara McPherson, The Pizz, Adam Wright and Steven Stone. In addition to cool art, free food and wine, we were treated to a DJ mixing classic rock all night long. Where else on earth would you hear “Five To One” by the Doors mixed into “Waiting for the Sun,” mixed into “Whole Lotta Love,” by Led Zeppelin! If you become a fan of Dark Custom on Facebook, you could win the Art of Rebellion poster pictured above, signed by artist Frank Kozik. You can find out more about the show here.
See my (and Gail’s) favorite pieces from the show after the jump.
