Adam Green at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York.

To celebrate the success and final night of Adam Green’s massively successful art show, “Teen Tech,” the singer performed a rare acoustic/acapella set at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York on May 2, 2010. Before the set, I talked with the singer and as usual, he was super cool. He said that his inspiration for the pieces in this exhibit were “a cross between MC Escher and Banksy.” He also told me that his next work is going to be a painting on a 9 foot door. Can’t wait to see that! Keep checking the Morrison Hotel’s site for updates on upcoming exhibits – including a Joel Brodsky exhibit! What better place is there to see Jim Morrison photos than the Morrison Hotel?!

See some more pictures of Adam Green as well as a video of him performing “Give Them A Token (Acoustic)” after a word from our sponsor.

Adam Green live at the Bowery Ballroom

Adam Green

On April 24, 2010, sometimes singer of Moldy Peaches and fabulous artist, Adam Green performed at the Bowery Ballroom in New York and set the place on fire!  Backed by the band The Dead Trees (who were also one of two opening acts – and more on them coming soon), Adam Green had so much charisma on stage, it was definitely a night to remember.  The banner behind the stage said “Justin Bieber Live,” which was also pretty cool.  He covered every square foot of the stage, dancing around, playing guitar, ripping off his shirt with the aid of an audience member and he jumped into the crowd multiple times. He had a fair amount to drink, but was able to pull off the show like a pro.  I’ve had a lot of wacky concert experiences, but what I am about to tell you probably takes the cake. Picture it:  I was standing in the front row (not a shock, I know) entranced, watching Adam’s great stage presence (which was a cross between Jim Morrison and Freddie Mercury!)  Though Adam Green is heterosexual (from what I’ve read on the net), during the 3rd or 4th song, he leaned in towards me and kissed me!  The moment happened really quickly, but I definitely saw people flashing pictures during that moment, so if you’ve got one of those pictures, please hit me up!  Apparently, Adam is getting divorced, so if you are out there Adam – I’m single, but I won’t be for long, so here’s your chance.  🙂 Finally, great news about his art show:  due to popular demand, the Morrison Hotel Gallery has extended the run for another week, so I highly recommend that you see it.  I met Adam backstage after the show and I’ll be posting that story very soon, so stay tuned.

Adam Green - Teen Tech at the Morrison Hotel Gallery April 23 and 24, 2010.

New Yorkers!  Sorry to make you reschedule your plans for today, but please cancel them at once and head down to the Morrison Hotel Gallery on 313 Bowery to see Moldy Peaches singer Adam Green’s art show Teen Tech.  The hit and run exhibit is only open on April 23 and 24, 2010 and it’s really cool!  The exhibit is a mixture of paintings, photography and paper mache!  As you’ll see from the following pictures, the pieces are really colorful, but seeing pictures isn’t the same as seeing them with your own eyes.  I also want to take this opportunity to thank Rick Edwards of the Morrison Hotel Gallery for being really cool to me when I went to see this exhibit.  We got to talking about music and art and the next thing you know, he gave me a private tour of the basement of the Morrison Hotel Gallery, which is a performance space that is bigger than a lot of venues around the city.  As the gallery is located next door to the former CBGB, an original bathroom is enshrined in the basement!  You could just feel the great vibe and I am looking forward to attending shows here.  To book that space, this list of contacts might be helpful.  Thanks again Rick!  I am seeing Adam Green in concert tonight, so a review and images of that show will be forthcoming.  Stay tuned!

UPDATE:  Due to the popularity of this show, it has been extended for another week.  The show will now close on May 2, 2010 so please go see it.  It’s really cool!
