You gotta love the spontenaity of New York.  This morning, June 24, 2011, I found out Jack White (formerly of the White Stripes) worked with Stephen Colbert for a new single (yes, that’s right).  It stands to reason then that Stephen Colbert and the Black Belles would perform the song.   Underneath a new section of the Highline park that just opened, Colbert and White sang the National Anthem (and a video will be coming soon, so stay tuned) and “Charlene (I’m Over You)” with the Black Belles.  Jack White’s Third Man Records truck was there and they were selling vinyl, of which they announced a signing after the performance!  Whoa!  Thanks Jack, Stephen and of course, The Black Belles.

Dead Weather fans pay close attention.  The picture you are seeing is the 2 day only “Third Man Records” store, where you can bet Jack White and his new band will make an appearance or 2 before or after their show at Terminal 5 in New York.  This Lower East Side  store is only “open” until July 17, so act now and tell ’em G sent ya!
