Art Vs. Science

Art Vs. Science

I admit it.  I went to go see the Australian dance/punk/electro band Art Vs. Science based exclusively on their name.  The trio played New York’s Bowery Ballroom on August 12, 2011.  My instincts were right and they turned me into a fan before their set was over.  I checked out their debut album “The Experiment” after the show was over and I recommend it.  There’s a few mid-tempo tracks, but most of the album will get you up out of your seat and dancing like the crowd was at Bowery Ballroom.  Highlights for me were “Sledgehammer” (no relation to the Peter Gabriel song) and “Hollywood.”

Catch Art Vs. Science when they come to your town.  Their remaining US tour dates are:

Saturday 13th August North Halsted Market Days, Chicago, IL.

Sunday 14th August The Empty Bottle, Chicago, IL.

Thursday 18th August Club Congress, Tuscon, AZ.

Friday 19th August Bar Smith, Phoenix, AZ.

Saturday 20th August Voila Acoustique, Mexico City.

Sunday 21st August Fortune Sound Club, Vancouver.

Tuesday 23rd August Dour Fir Lounge, Portland, OR.

Wednesday 24th August Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco, CA.

Thursday 25th August The Hundred Days, Gundlach-Bundschu Winery, Sonoma, CA.

Friday 26th August The Casbah, San Diego, CA.

Saturday 27th August Sunset Junction Street Fair, Los Angeles, CA.

Sunday 28th August Grit City Fest, Tacoma, WA.

Kylie Minogue live at the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 13, 2009

Kylie Minogue finished off her 3-night sold-out shows at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 13, 2009.  It was every bit as amazing as the first night.  The lights, the costumes, the music, the gays.  What a night!

The setlist was identical to the first night; however, as it was her last show in New York and it was the last show on her first US tour, she played a stripped down version of her smash hit “I Could Be So Lucky,” for the adoring crowd.

I admit it.  I had a few Kylie cds in the G archives prior to these shows and I’ve gotten a bunch more after seeing her live.

See more great Kylie photos and the setlist after the jump.
