Joshua Petker and G

The first time I ever saw paintings by Joshua Petker, I fell in love.  He uses vivid colors in his works and when you look at his paintings, they provoke your brain to wonder what the story is behind each image you are looking at.  Every time I run into Joshua Pekter, we have the most interesting discussions.  He’s an encyclopedia of knowledge about music and art (my two favorite things) and I especially enjoyed talking with him about the concept of art as an “ongoing conversation.”  I found his viewpoints fascinating and perhaps one day I’ll be fortunate enough to interview him for this site.  (Fingers crossed!)  If you are in the San Francisco area, you will not want to miss his latest exhibit, “We’re Not As Colorful As We Think We Are” at the Shooting Gallery.  It runs until October 2, 2010 and from the images I’ve seen, it looks spectacular.  If you are unfamiliar with Joshua’s work, the link to his official site is above.  You must take a look!  Your eyes will thank you for it.  Thanks again for being super cool Joshua and as always, I look forward to seeing and hearing more great things from you!
